AJAX Image Swapper FAQ

I realised this module is one of the hardest module to get it run, due to its high system requirements (it needs php5.1 or later version) and the combination of features it has (with troubles they bring) which was why I put much effort on supports by answering questions through forum and privately, and setting up this FAQ page

When you find any problem, take a look at this FAQ page, then if not answered, look for it in the forum, and last resort if none helped (or it took to long for me to reply to your post - it sometimes do happen) just drop me a message.

Q: Help! This module is simply not working!

A: Have you checked whether you have php5.1 or later version running on your server?

Q: When I go to Admin->Catalog->Ajax Image Swapper Manager there appears to be a problem. No matter which Category I choose, the "Product Name" drop down never populates. It always says "Please select a category first". In addition, clicking on "Clean Up Now" appears to do nothing as well. (Maybe some Javascript is not being loaded?)

A: Have you checked whether you have php5.1 or later version running on your server? You can check by going to Admin - Version.

Q: Yes I have (php5.1 or later version running on my server)

A: Most of the time some files were forgotten to be copied. Go through all the directories of the modules such as zen_cart_folder, mootools_on_*, and template_specific_files and copy everything inside these folders to your zen-cart installation.

The way I put the files on different folders might found to be confusing for some, but there are reasons for it. One is to protect it from / protect other modules or original files specific "important" files to be overwritten and stop your cart from working.

Q: I don't find how to insert photo of my objects, There is a big gap on the right side of my page

A:
1. Go to your AJAX_image_swapper_v3.1.1 folder
2. Find the directory called mootools_on_admin
3. Inside that directory there is a directory called admin, inside admin there is a directory called includes, inside includes there is a directory called javascript.
4. Inside javascript there is a file called mootools-release-1.11.js

Make sure that the mootools-release-1.11.js (along with the uncompressed folder if you wish) is indeed in your admin -> includes -> javascript directory on your site.

Q: Medium size images are sticking outside of the border/

Medium size images are not resized

A: Known bug, apparently, you cannot upload image with different cased letters for example use PSYCHO WARD T-SHIRT.jpg as opposed to PSYCHO WARD t-shirt.jpg. You can still change the title though.

Q: Hello, I changed the medium size settings to 430x430 px but it did not work. Is 300 px the largest it can be?

A: No, its working, set the image size through configuration, then upload the images, not the other way around

Q: Why I keep getting 0kb image files???

A:
1. Set the image folder permission (and everything under it) to 777
2. Click on "Setup Images" button

Q: Are there configuration changes I need to make in Zen Cart itself to access the features of the image swapper?

A: Nope if you have them set up in your template's product display should be fine.

Q: Do I need to upload an attribute swatch image or is that handled through the AJAX manager?

A: Nope you don't need to. The thumbnails changes when you select different attribute - but well you can if you want to add images next to the attributes options.

Q: The saved images weren't resized

You will need to have GD library installed in your php installation in order to get image resizing to work. Go to Zen-Cart admin - Version and see if GD Support is enabled
